Champs-Elysees avenue : Today special

For two days, beginning on Sunday, the famous Parisian avenue, the Champs-Elysees, has been transformed into a giant fantasy garden with 150,000 plants - including 650 fully grown trees.

Book hostels in Paris

When I was in Paris couple years ago, I found it hard to communicate with the locals because most of them didn’t speak English. By the time I arrived at Gare du Nord, (Paris Eurostar Train Station), I was approached by a Chinese ladies asking me if I’m interested to book hostel.

As I’m travelling with limited budget, surely I will look for cheap hostels or hostel for backpackers. So, I can’t get the complete description from the ladies about the price and the exact location.

So, I believe you don’t want to get trouble when you are looking for Paris hostels. Make sure to do some homework or else you will get disappointed for real discount hostel.

Pompidou Centre : Paris

Georges Pompidou, president of France (1969-74) conceive the idea of the Centre National d'Art et de Culture Georges Pompidou (1971-77). The designing job was assigned to British architect - Richard Rogers in partnership with the Italian architect, Renzo Piano. Both architects, entered the architectural design competition for design of the building, were devoted to the idea of form defined by function in a modernist context.

The Centre Georges Pompidou is described as 6 storey culture machine, forms gigantic transparent box with the measurement of 550ft (168m) long x 194ft (59m) wide x 138ft (42m) high. What so special about Pompidou Centre is because of the engineering architecture applied, exposing cylindarical steel columns and trusses spanning the entire length. Unsupported spanning beams create a highly flexible interior, while steel cantilevers support various services system outside the column.

The escalators placed in transparency plastic tubes, create amazing experience while the elevators painted red, air ducts with blue, water piping green
and electricity with yellow color. Not surprisingly, Pompidou Center appears as a face of 'half-factory' built. As a result, Pompidou Georges Centre shows it's aesthetic with the idea of 'industrial installations can be beautiful' (by expose the service elements).

Train in Paris : most efficient transportation for public and tourist

Prepare with your map, travel guide and Paris Metro Train tickets passes. That's among your best tools and gadget to make sure you will survive and won't get lost in the middle of Paris, as English is not main language spoken here. You might get into trouble as they only speak French mostly.

If you are planning a trip to Paris and start the journey from UK, the best way to get there is also by train. Even in UK, you can get to Eurostar start point by using UK train chains, at the nearby town. Cheap, reliable and efficient. Those are among the criteria that should be considered if you are thinking about budget trip.

La Grande Arche

La Grande Arche designed by Danish Architect - Johan-Otto von Spreckelsen, chosen from 420 international architect candidates from the competition held in 1982- 83. As a result, a perfect hollow cube : 180 metres wide, 110 metres high and 112 metres deep, known as La Grande Arche was constructed and perfectly built.


The building stands as a monument in the middle of Paris City, La Defense to be exact, has crown the axis of Paris.

Disneyland Resort Paris

We went to Disneyland Resort Paris on 2005 summer for Adam Harith 3rd's birthday. We were staying at Paris and get there by train (we try to save some Euros by not staying at Disney's Resort Hotels..)

Disneyland is something that we never imagine before. The place is heaven for kids. Everything is awesome. Even as an adult, I am amazed and really entertained that day. But I feel sorry for Adam for not staying at Disney. I wish I should get a hotel at Disney Resort to explore more of the Park. To be honest, one day is not enough for being in Disneyland Paris. We were at the park the whole day, miss out the chance to visit another part of the Disneyland - Disney Village.

Disney Resort Paris provide full range of family entertainment, all amusement with effects and props from some of their famous movie. The roller coaster is superb and scary me enough.. :D Adam was really happy to see lots of his favorite cartoon character, such as Buzz Light Year, Woody, Mickey, The Incredibles, Snow White and 7 dwarfs, and many more.

The best entertainment in Paris Disney Resort is car stunt show from Opel Car Team. The were superb with flying cars, shooting like from movie scene, explosion, fire and many more. I can't remember how much we get charged for the tickets.
