Coconut Shake Luar Biasa at Muar @ Ledang

No comments:

For coconut shake lovers, most of them has tried Original Coconut Shake Klebang. They already have the popularity for ages. Anyway, Coconut Shake Batu Berendam, Alai and Padang Temu start gaining popularity as well.

Apart from Melaka, the neighbor, Muar, still not famous with coconut shake. Maybe the existence of coconut shake  outlet are not obvious to public here. Or maybe they are not well know yet?

Anyway, if you are looking for coconut shake in Muar, perhaps you should go to Kampung Parit Bunga and drop by at Coconut Shake Luar Biasa. For exact location, please check on the google maps below:

While enjoying the mouth watering coconut shake, you also can try the cucur udang @ kuih udang for only 50sen each. It serves with homemade chili sauce, and I bet you won't regret with the taste.

Al-Khwarizmi Astronomy Complex

No comments:

Al-Khawarizmi Astronomy Complex is one of the facilities that are provided by Melaka State Government in order to study and to explore the growth and the mystery of the universe. Melaka Mufti Department has been honored to realizing the State Government’s ambition.
There were three main buildings in the Complex, which are the observatory, the Planetarium and the Training Centre.

In the expansion of Al-Khawarizmi Astronomy Complex, our community has the opportunity to study and appreciate astronomy deeper. Apart from that, we hope that today’s generation has the potency to bring the glory of astronomy in today’s world.

I keep passing by the complex every time me and family fetching my sister in law. She studying in UNITI College at Kuala Sungai Baru (Port Dickson). But I didn't manage to get there. Hope I can make it someday.

Probably there should be more promotion and exposure from the government to commercialize this astronomy complex.

My 2 cents, it will give more exposure and intention to schoolkids about astronomy and perhaps will line up in their ambition lists. I believe many people out there have no clues about the real world of astronomy.

If you want to check on the operation time schedule and ticket price, please go to the official website.

Rocky Mountain, Niagara Falls

2 comments:

I've been visiting some European countries when I was in UK. Most of them I did travelled alone, without using any travelling agencies or escort tours guide.

That was because Europe and UK are very close and we reach each other either by Eurotrain, Cruise or flight. I just travelled within Europe, no other region.

There was once I met my friend and saw her photos in Niagara Falls. On that moment, I felt disappointed caused I never had any chance to go to northern America. When we met, it’s only a month left, before I go back for good.

She said it is not so difficult to travel to Canada, USA and others Northern America country. When she was there, she just spent some money for escorted tours Canada and it worth.

Even we are travelling with the escorted tours, we still can choose for best hotel in Canada with different type of packages. You can pick the travel agencies with attractive offering of North America travelling package with affordable price. For cosy and efficient business, all bookings can be done through online system.

If I have a chance again, I’ll make sure Rocky Mountain and Niagara Falls will go on my list.

St. Paul Church on top of St. Paul Hill

No comments:

I'm too tired to do my own words,  it is 6.20am. I haven't sleep yet, and I can't think much right now. So I rob some info from wikipedia;

St. Paul's Church is a historic church building in Malacca, Malaysia that was originally built in 1521. It is located at the summit of St. Paul's Hill and is today part of the Malacca Museum Complex comprising the A Famosa ruins, the Stadthuys and other historical buildings.
In Décadas da Ásia, the seminal work of the Portuguese chronicler, João de Barros, the original structure was a simple chapel built in 1521 dedicated to the Virgin Mary and known as the Nossa Senhora da Annunciada (Our Lady of Grace) or the Nossa Senhora da Annunciada (Our Lady of the Hill). The chapel was built by a Portuguese fidalgo or nobleman, Duarte Coelho, as an act of gratitude following his escape from a storm in the South China Sea.
The chapel was deeded to the Society of Jesus in 1548 by the Bishop of Goa, João Afonso de Albuquerque, with the title deeds received by St. Francis Xavier. The chapel was then further enlarged in 1556 with the addition of a second floor, and a belfry tower was added in 1590. The chapel was then renamed the Igreja de Madre de Deus (Church of the Mother of God).
A burial vault was opened in 1592 and many people of distinction were buried there, including Pedro Martins, the second Bishop of Funay, Japan.

Rojak Petis and ABC, Tanjung Emas, Muar

2 comments:
My favorite Rojak petis

For MUARian, Tg. Emas (with biggest durian on earth), is a common place for us. Yes, I was born here and spent my childhood at Kg. Parit Bunga, Muar. I bet every original Muarian lived outside will spend sometime here, everytime they have chance 'balik kampung'.

mouthwatering ABC

When I was a kid, still remember that I will only have ABC and rojak petis at the old medan selera if I have a chance to come here. The old Tanjung Emas Medan selera  were situated at Muar river bank. Now it has been replaced with the new building, on the opposite side, across the road.... what a waste for nice view of the river.

Actually there is nothing much of interest for outsiders if they come here. The attraction at Tanjung Emas is a boat ride from here to Sabak Awor, the rojak petis, playground, jogging track, head of vintage train and nice view of the estuary of the Muar river.

Once in a while, you'll see fishing boat departed from jetty under the Muar bridge, heading to the Straits of Melaka.

This ABC make me thirsty

last pose from AhmadIQbal , in front of the food court

For outsiders, don't feel sorry and blame us if you are taken here. We don't have skyscrapers in Muar town, or even 5 star shopping paradise. This is what we have and we proud of it as Muarian.

So, enjoy the nature. ;)

Where to go in 2012 : Malacca is one of them!

4 comments:

The New York Times has listed Malacca (Melaka, Malaysia) as one of the 'places to visit in 2012' in total of 45 places  listed.

 28. Malacca, Malaysia A World Heritage site ramps up its tourism options.
With its lantern-lighted canals and silent, narrow streets lined with decades-old ornate temples and shop houses, few places in Southeast Asia conjure romantic images of the past as effectively as Malacca, Malaysia’s oldest city. A former Portuguese, Dutch and British colony, this Unesco World Heritage site is now attracting record numbers of tourists lured by its unusual architecture and cuisine, which reflect centuries of foreign influences.... full story here

Congratulations Melaka, I'm proud of you.

Cottages in Cornwall, Eden Project

No comments:

image of my boy with his uncle

For past entries, I’ve talked about London apartments and the Olympics 2012. In this entry, it still related to United Kingdom, the place where I spent 4 years, completed my study and earned lots of Pound Sterling (by working and doing ebay). During those periods, I’ve spent a lot when travelling around England, up to Wales, Scotland and some European countries.

Normally I prefer driving my proton Wira car (known as Proton Persona in UK). Just for knowledge, here I share some information about proton Wira, credit to wikipedia:

In 1994, exports to the United Kingdom began where it was marketed as the Proton Persona (not to be confused with the latest 2007 sedan model by Proton). As with the Saga, all export models used multi-point fuel injection to comply with the Euro I emissions standards. The UK market also had a turbo diesel engine in the range, called TDi. In 2001, the Wira name was finally used in theUnited Kingdom, replacing the Persona name.

So, I loved the car very much and she really deliberate on me. Unfortunately, I’ve to let it go as it is not worth for shipment back to Malaysia.

Ok, so lets get back to what I’m going to say. Among those places of interest in UK, I really admire cottage house. The cottages are really special to me. I like the look and the surrounding environments. For me, cottages in Cornwall are one of the best in term of house designs, environment and variation. I had a chance to enjoy the view and scenery during my vacation to Lands End, back in 2004.

The topography of Cornwall makes the cottages look amazing, as there were hills, stiff area, high cliff and the ocean with big waves. Everything looks so perfect to me.

Not far from Cornwall town, there is a masterpiece of architecture, laid cluster of gigantic dome know as Eden Project. The Eden Project was designed by great architect, Nicholas Grimshaw. It was a great honour for me, to have a chance witnessing the art of architecture from great architect.

Honestly, I’m so impressed once I stepped into the giant dome. Believe me, you can’t get the same experience any other place in UK or Europe. The special about Eden Project is that it gathered plant species from around the world. The first emulates a tropical environment, while the other dome for a warm temperate, mediterranean environment.

It’s already 6 years since I left England for good. Still I have the feeling to come back there to enjoy all places of interest and holiday destinations. I wish I can make it again.

Uptown Muar starts today

2 comments:
view of night scene from last Ramadan Muar Uptown

It supposed to be the first day for Uptown Maharani starts if not because of heavy rain that called off the event. I'm one of the traders involve with the uptown. I was already there by 6.30pm but the MPM (Muar City Council) lorry with the canopy wasn't there. I called one of the MPM staff and he said it was cancelled due to the weather.

The uptown actually held almost a month during Ramdhan this year and successfully organized with all traders involved satisfied with it. I am personally really happy with MPM, the location and the management.

Anyway, the uptown will run as scheduled starts from tomorrow and will be as one of Muar official weekend events, every Friday and Saturday. Six-month trial period for the bazaar applied and the council will reconsider to extend or withdraw, depend on public feedback.

Here I found newspaper report from NST saying about the event;

THE Muar Municipal Council has drawn up a comprehensive master plan to bring nightlife to Bandar Maharani.
Under the plan the Uptown Maharani weekend business centre night bazaar with 90 stalls will be set up in Jalan Sisi on Fridays and Saturdays. Jalan Sisi is located in the heart of the township.
The bazaar will be similar to the one in Jonker Street, Malacca, where items such as crockery, carpets, handicraft, shoes and antique are sold from 6pm to midnight.

Council president Muhamad Fuad Radzuan said the local authority was setting up the bazaar to encourage rural folk and tourists, from neighbouring states, to visit Bandar Maharani.
"The council is looking for ways to encourage visitors to stay longer in the town and boost economic growth," he said, after chairing the monthly full-council meeting recently.
He said visitors were unwilling to stay overnight because there was nothing to see at night. He said the town shut down at 10pm.

Fuad said out-of-town businessmen and Muar residents preferred to go to Malacca or Batu Pahat for the night life.
"Tourists are pouring into Bandar Maharani for culinary delights like ikan asam pedas, otak-otak, mee rebus, mee bandung and satay during the day."
