Al-Khwarizmi Astronomy Complex

Al-Khawarizmi Astronomy Complex is one of the facilities that are provided by Melaka State Government in order to study and to explore the growth and the mystery of the universe. Melaka Mufti Department has been honored to realizing the State Government’s ambition.
There were three main buildings in the Complex, which are the observatory, the Planetarium and the Training Centre.

In the expansion of Al-Khawarizmi Astronomy Complex, our community has the opportunity to study and appreciate astronomy deeper. Apart from that, we hope that today’s generation has the potency to bring the glory of astronomy in today’s world.

I keep passing by the complex every time me and family fetching my sister in law. She studying in UNITI College at Kuala Sungai Baru (Port Dickson). But I didn't manage to get there. Hope I can make it someday.



Probably there should be more promotion and exposure from the government to commercialize this astronomy complex.

My 2 cents, it will give more exposure and intention to schoolkids about astronomy and perhaps will line up in their ambition lists. I believe many people out there have no clues about the real world of astronomy.

I love travelling and I'd like to see new things, new place and learn the culture. It is one of my dream to travel and discover the whole world. There were times I've been dreaming to visit places of interest in Sydney, New York, South Africa, Hawaii and Tokyo. I never been to those places and I really like to visit them.

When I was in UK, I've met a couple which they already travelling and discover the world. They worked with me at the same factory. Both came from South Africa but working in England to earn money just for travelling. When I met them, the guy just 35 years old and it really surprised me.

They used to work for six moths while the rest 3 moths they travel as a backpackers. They keep doing the same routine till the mission accomplished. They really inspire me to apply the same method of travelling. I am now start doing some research on how to survive as a backpackers for long period abroad.

I’ve heard that there are jobs for backpackers available if we deal with the agent. I'd like to know about Visa information and status for backpackers, eg. I'm Malaysian and do I allowed to do backpacking in Australia (seriously Australia is one of my wishlist). 

There are also a website for us to refer if we are planning for backpacking. I've seen one with lots of great bargains and chances to win free weekly deals. Moto GP : SHELL ADVANCE MALAYSIAN MOTORCYCLE GRAND PRIX, 23 - 25 October 2009

Hashim : big fan of Moto GP

FIM Malaysian MotoGP just around the corner. It is the 16th race on the MotoGP calendar. The venue will be at Sepang F1 International Circuit (just couple miles away from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, KLIA). I start to feel the excitement as me and my friend- big fan of Moto GP don’t want to miss the actio. We were there last year at Sepang Circuit, sitting on the grand stand, try to avoid hot and humid Malaysian weather.

Valentino Rossi the Doctor as usual is the main icon of the 500cc race. Everybody doesn’t want to miss the action again this year. It seems Rossi has big fan over here in Malaysia. We can see lots of them wearing Valentino Rossi t shirts. There are big booth selling Valentino Clothing and the official merchandise.

Anyway, the competition this year is much more tougher with Jorge LORENZO, Rossi's team mate is not far behind from the championship standings, but it seems quite hard for Dani PEDROSA and Casey Stoner, last year MotoGP champion to compete for the title.

I still didn't get the ticket for the race. I was thinking to get it on the race day but dunno if my friend will get it from the official ticket agents. He said that we would get a souvenir if the tickets purchased at the Moto GP promo counter. I'll try to call him tonight, either he will get the tickets before the race or not. The amount must be very big as the travel agents can pay their staffs' wages and they make some profit... isn't it? Sometimes they can get 'airline tickets cheap on very last minute'.


Just imagine how easily you can get  cheap first class airfares or cheap business class tickets, no matter for one-way tickets or returns. Normally it hard to find the real cheap plain tickets because so many travel agency will advertise their business as "cheap airfare rates". If they can give us cheap business class airfare, that means, they already get it cheaper than what we pay. I also have a dream to get business class cheap flights.
