Those words I grabbed from Team Malaysia youtube channel, for supporting Malaysian team in London 2012 olympic games. I believe many people really excited about Olympic and will be supporting our team to strive for victory.

Even none of Malaysian still didn't make it for our first Olympic gold, we believe we will make it very soon.

Faces of 1Malaysia Festival in Washington DC

Tourism Malaysia is showcasing its tourism attractions and cultural attributes that represent the spirit of 1Malaysia in the "Faces of 1Malaysia Festival in Washington DC this weekend. The event, organised by the Information Communication and Culture Ministry to promote Malaysia's unique culture and arts , coincides with the visit of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to Washington DC to attend the nuclear security summit on Monday.

Najib's wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor will inaugurate the event at the Washington DC premises of the National Geographic Society.

Salahuddin Mohd Ariffin, vice-president of Tourism Malaysia's New York office, told Bernama that an elaborate cultural programme was being offered in conjunction with the presentation.

Craft products from Malaysia would be on sale and demonstrations on handicraft making, promotional offers on travel and tour packages and promotion of Malaysian cuisine would be held besides multi-ethnic music and cultural performances and a textile showcase.

Information Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim would also be present.

Besides officials of Tourism Malaysia, representatives from Malaysia Airlines, Melaka State Economic Planning Unit, Fraser's Hill Development Corporation in Pahang, Sabah Tourism Board, Johor Tourism Department, Sarawak Tourism and Negri Sembilan Economic Planning Unit would be available to answer questions from the public.

Salahuddin said the highlight of the event was the Malaysia Gala Night to be held on April 13 at the Mandarin Oriental where Najib would be the chief guest.

Burj Dubai @ Burj Khalifa officially launched as the world tallest building

Burj Dubai officially launched on the glamorous and colorful opening ceremony. Fireworks shows make the opening really alive. How long Burj Dubai will hold the record as  worlds tallest building? I've visited Dubai couple years ago but the building still not completed. Really wish to have another chance to be in Dubai again - perhaps can make Burj Khalifa reservation?

Facts of Burj Dubai

Currently the worlds tallest building and tallest man-made structure, Burj Dubai is at the centre of Downtown Burj Dubai, the flagship mega-project of Emaar Properties in Dubai. The final height of the tower will be revealed on its completion in 2009.

With a development value of over US$1 billion, Burj Dubai, when completed, will fulfill all the criteria of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH), which ranks the worlds tallest buildings on the basis of spire height, the highest occupied floor, roof height and pinnacle height.

At a current height of over 800 meters (2,625 ft), Burj Dubai has now also scaled over 160 levels, the most number of storey in any building in the world. Burj Dubai has already surpassed the height of the KVLY-TV mast in North Dakota, USA - 628.8 meters (2,063 ft), which held the distinction of being the worlds tallest man-made structure. Burj Dubai is taller than Taipei 101 in Taiwan, which at 508 meters (1,667 ft) has held the tallest-building-in-the-world title since it opened in 2004. The tower also surpassed the 31-year-old record of CN Tower, which at 553.33 meters (1,815.5 ft) has been the worlds tallest free-standing structure on land since 1976.

Leveraging on the advancements in construction engineering, Burj Dubai undertook height enhancement in 2008 and is also upgrading its interior finishes. International designers from California have revisited the designs to make the residences more attractive and functionally superior.

In just 1,325 days since excavation work started in January, 2004, Burj Dubai became the tallest free-standing structure in the world. More than 11,000 consultants and skilled construction workers are employed on site, and the worlds fastest high-capacity construction hoists, with a speed of up to 2 m/sec (120 metres/min), were used to move men and materials.
