La Grande Arche designed by Danish Architect - Johan-Otto von Spreckelsen, chosen from 420 international architect candidates from the competition held in 1982- 83. As a result, a perfect hollow cube : 180 metres wide, 110 metres high and 112 metres deep, known as La Grande Arche was constructed and perfectly built.
The building stands as a monument in the middle of Paris City, La Defense to be exact, has crown the axis of Paris.
"This concrete monolith is the powerful and sophisticated result of many innovations and these technologically challenged architects, engineers and contractors."

I was here in summer 2005 witness the miracle of engineering and the beauty of arhitecture. La Grande Arche is one of 'must visit' destination in Paris.
