Happy Eid

Malaysian are having long holidays start from today because tomorrow is Eid Mubarak (Hari Raya Aidilfitri), which some of the offices stretched up to Wednesday. Police records shows that crime index for house breaking, robbery and snatch theft increases during festive seasons. As to avoid such incidences from happening, please take these security/safety precautions.

• Take additional security precautions particularly when you are withdrawing cash at the tellers/banks.
• Bring along friends to accompany you.
• Walk against the traffic flow.

If you are celebrating Hari Raya or spending the long holidays at your hometown, please let your neighbor know and leave them your contact number in case of any emergency.

Register your home address by filling up the forms provided at the nearest Police Station. By doing, so the police will be able to perform regular patrols at your residential area.

Inform your newspaperman not to send newspaper to your house while you are away. By seeing the stuffed newspapers at your house gate or on the floors, criminals will easily be able to target your house.

While driving back to your village or coming back, don’t forget “Ops Sikap” that the Traffic Police will be launching from

13 Sept till 29 Sept 2009. Traffic offenders caught or detected committing any of the 5 serious traffic offences during that period will be served with a mandatory RM 300 compound.

The offenses are:

• 1. Speeding
• 2. Beating the traffic lights
• 3. Using the emergency lanes
• 4. Overtaking at double lines
• 5. Not stopping at junctions

Plan your journey properly and follow the traffic schedule and information provided by PLUS and Traffic Police to avoid being caught in the traffic jams. Drive safely, think of your love ones and don’t be part of the police statistics.
